A string of ‘firsts’

With only a few weeks until opening night, a series of ‘firsts’ will merge when the curtain opens on Cirencester Operatic Society’s spring production of Hello Dolly.

For its 101st production, the society is presenting, for the first time, Hello Dolly; the first big hit on Broadway for composer, Jerry Herman.

Hello Dolly is Stage Director Dave Walklett’s debut production for COS. An experienced actor and director, this is his first production since moving from Essex in 2007.

In the title role, Libby Walklett is taking her first major leading role with COS and her first in any show directed by her husband!

Hello Dolly is also the first major leading role, for COS, for Roy Archer and for newcomer to the society Matt Perry. Assistant Musical Director Mike Dukes and Choreographer Jennifer Gaden are also ‘firsts’.
